NEW ONLINE TRAINING:

THE ESSENTIAL GUIDE to
GENDER DIVERSITY in
CHILDREN and ADOLECENTS
with SARAH BURGAMY, Psy.D.

Approved for 12.5 CEs.

A 16-year-old fills out your new client form with the first name “Owen,” and checks the box -“female.” Do you feel confident you can help this person deal with the challenges of just navigating being a teenager?

A family walks into your office. Their 5-year-old child is wearing lace ruffles, and the parents tell you they are concerned about their son. Do you refer them to someone else since gender is not your specialty?

Therapists have shied away from these clients, and where possible, referred them to “specialists,” because our education did not prepare us to competently work with gender diverse clients.

However, unlike specialization areas such as eating disorders or PTSD, gender identity is too much a part of the core human identity for therapists to not know how to work with it

You need to feel competent and confident when working with your clients to address this sensitive, universal part of being human. The Essential Guide to Gender Diversity will teach you how.

In this 5-module course, we will step beyond basic competency in understanding gender diversity and give you the tools you need to work with clients on gender identity and expression.

This course will provide a safe space for you to engage in inner inquiry, and to ask questions without the fear that you will be judged or offend someone.

NEW TRAINING– WHAT’S NEW IN GENDERLAND: Your Definitive Guide to New Standards of Care

On September 15, 2022, the World Professional Association for Transgender Health published the 8th version of its Standards of Care.

These standards, assembled by an international and multidisciplinary team of experts using the latest evidenced-based research, define our minimum responsibilities as therapists when it comes to providing care for gender diverse clients.

Therapists working with gender-diverse clients often don’t know these standards exist. Or that the APA practice guidelines and DSM diagnostic codes are changing as well. That can leave us providing substandard care to one of the most vulnerable populations.

If you are feeling unsure about recognizing and caring for all gender identities, or curious about how the mental health field is evolving to address the needs of a gender-diverse population, the information is now available in one place / we’ve got the roadmap to get you on track.

We’re proud to present What’s New in Genderland: Your Definitive Guide to New Standards of Care with Sarah Burgamy, Psy.D.

NEW TRAINING– Living In A Nonbinary World: Understanding Cultural Shifts In Gender Identity And Expression

People often joke about the “alphabet soup” of gender and sexual identity. The list of letters following the original ‘LGB’ has definitely grown.

But the importance of those letters is not a joke.

Each letter represents gender identities and sexual orientations that our fellow human beings experience…

And each letter recognizes the struggle to be seen and respected.

So, let’s get serious about this real issue: When people’s core identities are disrespected or marginalized, the normal response is distress. We see unacceptable rates of distress in the LGBTQIA+ community.
